Meet the Retired K9s

Since 1980, DOGS-East K9s and their volunteer handlers have trained together to be ready when someone is missing. Their service is built through countless hours of practice, travel, outdoor work in every kind of condition, and the trust shared between a handler and a dog.

Our retired K9s helped carry that mission throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and supported a team prepared to respond when families, partner agencies, and communities needed skilled search resources. Every profile on this page represents more than a working dog—it represents a devoted partner, a teammate, and a cherished part of the DOGS-East family.

Although their operational years have ended, their impact remains in the handlers who loved them, the teams who trained beside them, and the tradition of service they helped pass on to the K9s who follow. We remember them with deep gratitude and honor the dedication, courage, and heart they gave to DOGS-East.
