Wilderness Dog Teams

2 compasses (one must be an orienteering type compass)

Whistle 

Knife or similar type tool 

Pen or pencil, and paper

Leash or parachute cord

Waterproof matches or lighter, and tinder

Flagging tape

Plastic bags (assorted sizes)

Space blanket

Flashlight with extra batteries

Radio and spare battery (this will be provided during evaluations)

Rain gear

First aid kit (sterile pads; medical tape; roller gauze or vet wrap or ace bandage; latex gloves)

Essential personal medical requirements (e.g., epi pen, glasses, etc.)

Water for person and dog

Suitable container for heating water

Wool socks or the equivalent (NOT cotton)

Ski cap or the equivalent

Appropriate Footwear (NOT tennis shoes)
